What Drives Us
Our Story
Serendipity Pet Rescue was founded in January, 2019 by a group of women who wanted to help save more cats in the Shreveport-Bossier area.
We rescue cats from local animal control shelters and occasionally take owner surrenders, circumstances depending. We provide vet care and a loving foster home until they can get adopted into their furever homes. We also do TNR (trap neuter return) for the community to further reduce the overpopulation of cats.

What is TNR? TNR stands for trap-neuter-return. It is an effective and humane way to control the feral and stray cat population. TNR works by trapping cats in humane traps and transporting them to a vet office or spay/neuter clinic to be sterilized and vaccinated (for rabies). The cats are eartipped so they can be recognized as part of a stable feral colony. The fixed and vaccinated cat is then released back outside to its “colony.” This method reduces over population and creates a stable, healthier cat colony.
